MEETING CALLED TO ORDER by President Sheldon Wettack - 9:35 AM
Present: Vince Beckman, Dennis Dreyer, Dottie Lyon, Jay Hernly, Mike Flynn, Sheldon Wettack, Pat Woods.
MINUTES 9-02-11 minutes approved unanimously
TREASURER’S REPORT
Dottie Lyon reviewed report, stating DLSA balance of $6,001.77 is in agreement with November 2011 bank balance.
Discussion followed re; check error to Chip Christy for music at the summer social. Board approved sending additional $25 due Chip.
Treasurer’s repot approved unanimously.
OLD BUSINESS
Membership survey committee: Dennis Dreyer reported issues remain the same since the formation of committee in 2010: Rentals, General Satisfaction with Association, what would members like to read about, Social / Auction – every year – every other year.
Power and Wind Turbines: Dennis reported no serious activity, especially in Allegan County. Interest in Lake Michigan has died down. Sheldon added that research in wind power going on in Cape Cod project is being met with opposition.
NEW BUSINESS
Social Committee: Dottie Lyon reviewed the committee’s written report.
1) Monthly Summer Socials: Suggest holding May-September, hosted by a different member each month (beginning with board members), open to anyone along the lakeshore and their guests, BYOB and appetizer, 3rd Thursday of each month recommended.
2) Annual DLSA Summer Social and Annual Meeting: Combine, Start off season
6-23-12 at SYC. Continue cocktail hour, dinner, music, games (during brief
business meeting). Auction – every other year ? (put question to members in
Newsletter survey).
Discussion: Favorable comments by board members re; opportunity for residents
full and part-time, to meet at monthly socials, and potential to increase interest in
DLSA.
Motion: Dennis Dreyer moved to approve the total approach and decide the
monthly social dates. Seconded by Mike Flynn – Approved unanimously.
Motion: Dottie Lyon moved to hold monthly socials on the 3rd Thursday of month
beginning in May promoted by ‘word of mouth’ – seconded by Dennis, approved
unanimously.
Suggestion Made: Subcommittee members, and others, attend Lake Michigan
Association’s Socials next summer – agreed.
Newsletter: Sheldon Wettack discussed the continuation and production of the
Annual Newsletter. Board confirmed benefit of newsletter and agreed to mailing
along with dues notice and survey – Jay Hernly will put up on the web-site as
well. Pay-pal is available online for dues payment. Al Lyon volunteered to do
“mechanical” production with others being responsible for articles.

to the drawing board – Constitutionally wrong. Upcoming meeting 11-29-11.

*[ Joe Milauckus unable to attend meeting / reports tabled until Dec. meeting]
“Sparkle Donation”: Pat Woods requested a lighting donation be
made to Saugatuck/Douglas - ‘Community Involvement’ and appreciation of
‘local business support’ of DLSA. Jay suggested $100 donation – approved.
Next Meeting: December 28th – 9AM – Jay Hernly’s house. Read By-Laws in advance!
